In memory of the late breeding trailblazer Fred G. Gist’s dedication to preserving our western heritage and the American Quarter Horse, The Fred G. Gist Memorial Foundation preserves and promotes the education, preservation, utilization, and history of Foundation Quarter Horses. By honoring our strong foundation, we touch the lives of future generations!
We invite you to ride for the brands of Wagon Wheel Ranch and Sul Ross State University. Please tell your friends about this unique educational endeavor. The fund to make this happen will hopefully gather before the pregnant mares start foaling. This endowment will preserve our western heritage and empower future horsemen, scientists, and industry leaders.
The Fred G. Gist Memorial Foundation is accepting donations for the Sul Ross State University Equine Endowment to perpetuate and promote the valuable and historic role played by the American Quarter Horse on working ranches, as well as provide a resource for future generations in the study of equine genetics and breeding while nurturing the ranch horse market.
The Wagon Wheel Ranch Breeding Program is primarily designed to concentrate the blood of specific legendary sires to produce some of the greatest using and performing horses with impeccable bloodlines, strong bones, great cow instincts, and gentle dispositions – the type of horses you will be proud to own and be mounted on!
Built originally by the late visionary, Fred G. Gist, today his legacy is furthered by the Wagon Wheel Ranch Breeding Program which continues to produce more top-quality using and performance horses with the versatility, disposition, and training to meet the needs of the ranch, the trail, and the arena.
This foundation’s mission to preserve and revitalize the American Quarter Horse was born from Fred G. Gist’s work at the Wagon Wheel Ranch.
The preservation and revitalization of the Foundation Quarter Horse in America
In memory of Mr. Fred G. Gist's dedication to preserving our western heritage and the American Quarter Horse, The Fred G. Gist Memorial Foundation preserves and promotes the foundations of the American Quarter Horses. The foundation's primary cause, currently, is raising the 15 million dollar endowment for the Sul Ross State Equine Education Program based on the Gist Genetic Vault.
The Fred G. Gist Memorial Foundation is happy to partner with other organizations to further promote its mission.
Be it online or in person, we look forward to your participation.
